My friend bought a Sovol SV06, so here are my experiences for new buyers or thinking about buying it:
- Check all the screws, assembly etc before start using the device. My friends sv06 came with a heat-break not tightened enough to the aluminium block which resulted in leakage, under-flow and heat-creep problems. Took a while to figure out, after cleaning and thermal-paste application it worked perfectly.
- Unofficial firmware with ubl, input shaping and filament runout sensor exists: https://github.com/hillsoftware/sv06 . Filament runout sensors are cheap. ,
- Cooling fan position is not optimal, taking hot air from bed and closes the print visually. Buy a 5015 fan, here are mount links: https://www.printables.com/model/361794-sv06-5015-part-cooling-duct/comments , https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/tool/sovol-sv06-fan-duct-5015-cfd-optimized .
- If your linear bearings are making sounds or if you need to want the printer to work smoother and quieter, lube it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUvaA4fJWH0
- For better Z performance, antibacklash nuts could be used.
- Firmware by default has linear-advance support and configured with 0.04 value. Test for your filament and install a plugin to your slicer to configure it.
- Bed heater cord tangels. Use something like: https://www.printables.com/model/382140-sovol-sv06-bed-heater-cord-support
- better cooling against heat-creep: https://www.printables.com/model/396908-fanmount-heatsink-5015-sovolsv06-heatcreep-fix
